Chicago, IL : 5 people hurt in 8-vehicle crash on icy Ohio feeder ramp near North Orleans Street on Sunday, 25th November 2018

five people, including a child, were injured in a multivehicle crash on the Ohio Street feeder ramp to the Kennedy Expressway, and Illinois State Police said the accident may have been related to cold, snowy weather that hit the area.

At least eight vehicles were involved in the crash near North Orleans Street around 2:15 p.m., according to state police. Five people, including a child, were taken to area hospitals for treatment, but none of their injuries were considered life-threatening, authorities said.

The chain-reaction crash temporarily closed all outbound lanes, but state police reopened the roadway by 3 p.m. State police said icy conditions on the ramp may have been responsible for the crash and reminded motorists to drive with caution on bridges and overpasses, as ice forms faster on such structures.
