York County , SC : 33- Year old Motorcyclist was killed after crash and ran off River road onFriday morning , December 12th 2014

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are trying to figure out what caused a crash that killed a motorcyclist early Friday morning in York County.

Investigators told Channel 9 that the male rider -- 33-year-old Matthew Filer -- ran off Red River Road near Cherry Road around 1:30 a.m. and struck a cement culvert. He died at the scene.

Troopers do not know what caused Filer to run off the roadway.

An autopsy was scheduled to be performed Friday.
