Des Plaines, IL : Monee man dies from car crash injuries on Monday, 19th September 2016

Zachary Gonzalez, a 20-year-old man from Monee, who was badly-injured on Monday morning when he crashed into a semi on Illinois Route 1 and 12000N Road, has died.

Gonzalez died Tuesday at Loyola in Maywood.

According to Illinois State Police, Gonzalez was headed east on 12000N Road about 11:15 a.m. when he allegedly didn't stop at a stop sign and "collided with the truck." He was ejected from the Jeep, police said, and was initially taken to Presence St. Mary's Hospital with "life-threatening injuries" before being air lifted to Loyola.

The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old man from Brook, Ind., was headed north on Route 1. His condition was not listed
