Newnan , GA : 45-year-old One Patient killed in ambulance crash after it became airborne and hit a utility pole and overturned on Wednesday morning , february 18th 2015

Authorities say an ambulance crashed in west Georgia, killing the patient who was inside.

Georgia Department of Public Safety officials say an ambulance was taking 45-year-old Tracy Thomas of Coweta County to a local hospital on a non-emergency call early Wednesday morning when it veered from the road and ran into a ditch. Authorities say the ambulance became airborne, rotated, hit a utility pole and overturned.

Tracey Watson of the state Department of Public Safety says the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash. Watson tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that weather wasn't a factor in the crash.
