LAWNDALE, NC : 2 students killed in crash near front of Cleveland County high school on Wednesday, 18th September 2024
Two students were killed and another was injured in a crash near the front of a Cleveland County high school on Wednesday afternoon, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Jaelyn Abraham, 14, and Dequavious Hopper, 17, were identified as the students killed in the collision.
The wreck happened on Sept. 18 around 4 p.m. in front of Burns High School -- located along East Stage Coach Trail in Lawndale.
Troopers said the three students were leaving the school in the same car when they were struck by a pickup truck. The teens had attempted to make a left turn onto Falls St., when they were hit head-on, troopers said.
