Three people, including an off-duty San Diego police officer, were injured Tuesday when a sports car and a pickup truck collided head-on near the Barona Casino.
The crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on Wildcat Canyon Road, near Bull Pen Road in the Lakeside area.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 30-year-old man from Ramona was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car (a 2005 Nissan 350Z) and crossed into oncoming traffic and into in the path of a 2014 Dodge Ram truck.

The victims include the driver of the Nissan (airlifted with major injuries), a 30-year-old man who was driving the Dodge Ram (transported by ambulance with major injuries) and a 28-year-old woman who was a passenger in the truck (transported by ambulance with minor injuries).
The wreck forced a full closure of the road in the area for a time. All lanes were clear again by shortly before noon.
The names of the injured were withheld.
Investigators say it appears that alcohol or drugs were not a factor in what happened
