Denton, TX : Lake Dallas teen dies in single-vehicle rollover crash near Sanger on Monday, 23rd April 2018
A teenage boy died Monday after a pickup truck he was driving flipped near Railroad Avenue and Rector Road south of Sanger, according to authorities.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has identified the boy as 16-year-old Zachary Thompson, of Lake Dallas. He was pronounced dead at the scene about 2 p.m. The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation.
Four other boys who are 17 or younger were in the vehicle at the time, two of whom were riding in the truck bed, officials said. After the wreck, the 17-year-old and 16-year-old passengers were taken to Medical City Denton with serious injuries, according to DPS spokesman Lonny Haschel. Two more passengers — a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old — were taken to Medical City Denton with injuries that weren't life threatening, Haschel said.
Medical examiner spokesman Troy Taylor said all four boys were in stable condition as of early Monday night.
