Swainsboro, GA : Two injured in crash on West Main on Friday, July 21, 2017
A crash on Friday afternoon impacted downtown traffic for more than an hour and resulted in two patients being transported. The 3 p.m. collision at the intersection of West Main and Green Streets blocked most of the busy roadway while emergency responders tended to the injured and investigated the crash. The “Jaws of Life” were used by Swainsboro firefighters to gain access to the female operator of a Chevrolet Malibu due to the T-bone collision. A male occupant was also injured. Both were transported to Emanuel Medical Center by EMS. The operator of a Ford passenger van was not injured in the crash. Swainsboro police officers, assisted by the Emanuel County sheriff’s deputies, provided traffic control through the heavily-traveled roadway. The Georgia State Patrol investigated the crash.
