Volo, IL : Motorcyclist injured after crashing in the Volo area Friday afternoon, May 19, 2016

A motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital after crashing in the Volo area Friday afternoon, a fire official said.

The Wauconda Fire District was dispatched to the area of Route 120 and Ellis Drive shortly after 2 p.m., according to scanner reports.

Lt. Dan Frey said the crash occurred on the eastbound side of Route 120. The male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, he added.

The patient was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with injuries not considered life-threatening.

There was partial lane blockage for about 30 minutes, Frey said.
