Yulee, FL : Two men injured after pickup flips in school bus crash in Nassau County on Tuesday morning, March 8, 2016

Two men were seriously injured Tuesday morning when the pickup they were in flipped after colliding with a school bus in Nassau County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Tyler Gaughan, 20, was driving the Chevy S10 east on State Road 200 when the school bus, driven by 53-year-old Regina Hyers, slowed to make a right turn at Timbercreek Boulevard. Gaughan told troopers he fell asleep and didn't slow down, hitting the rear of the bus, which caused the truck to overturn.

Gaughan and his passenger, 24-year-old Jacob Lee Forrester, were taken to UF Health Jacksonville with serious injuries. Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to the FHP report.

Hyers and two 8-year-old girls on the bus were not injured in the crash, troopers said.

Gaughan was cited for careless driving.
