Sandy ,OR :One Woman struck and killed by driver on US-26 Saturday evening ,August 15th 2015

Officials say a woman was struck and killed along Highway 26 near Sandy Saturday evening.

The crash was reported around 8:45 p.m. just east of Ruben Lane; police say a pedestrian was attempting to cross the highway outside of a crosswalk when she was struck.

The driver who hit her remained on scene and cooperated with police. Officials do not think the driver was impaired.

Eastbound lanes of US-26 were closed for some time.
