Manatee County, FL : Bicyclist dies after Cortez Road crash on Thursday, 5th September 2019

A bicyclist was killed in a crash on Cortez Road West on Thursday morning in Manatee County, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to the FHP, a Lexus IS350 driven by Eyad Ouri, 19, of Bradenton was heading east on Cortez Road West east of 26th Street West at about 10 a.m. A bicyclist traveling north crossed Cortez Road West directly in front of the Lexus, which steered left in an attempt to avoid a collision.

The Lexus and bicyclist collided. The bicycle rider, a 65-year-old man from Sarasota whose identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at Blake Medical Center. Ouri was not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
