Florida Highway Patrol has identified three people killed in a crash on San Carlos Boulevard near Fort Myers Beach on Monday morning, one of them a Fort Myers Beach resident.The Florida Highway Patrol said a 2017 Lexus was northbound on San Carlos and a 2004 Jeep was southbound in the outside lane on San Carlos.
The driver of the Lexus crossed the pavement median divider and hit the front of the Jeep, causing the utility vehicle to overturn.
The driver of the Lexus, David Pennington, 53, of Arizona, died, as did his passenger, Virginia Giebel, 54, also of Arizona.
The driver of the Jeep was Samantha Green, 33, of Fort Myers Beach, troopers reported.
Traffic has been restored on San Carlos, troopers said.
