Novato, CA : Man killed when car plunges into Marin County creek on Monday morning, January 9, 2017
A man was found dead Monday morning after police discovered his car submerged in a creek in Novato, officials said.
The crash occurred about 8:30 a.m. on the 5000 block of Novato Boulevard, near Hicks Valley and just east of Point Reyes, said Officer Ron Simmons of the California Highway Patrol.
The man, whose name was not released, was traveling westbound on the roadway toward Point Reyes before colliding with the guardrail and overturning into the creek, said Officer Andrew Barclay of the California Highway Patrol.
A creek runs under the roadway and the car was found about 15 feet below the roadway, Barclay added.
