McALLEN, TX : Police release name of victim in early morning auto-ped fatal on Thursday, 20th October 2016
Police identified the woman who died shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday morning after she and another man were involved in a crash at the intersection of Harvey Drive and Bicentennial Boulevard.
Lorena Cardenas, 52, was pronounced dead less than 30 minutes after she and another pedestrian, who has not been identified, suffered injuries early Thursday morning.
The driver of the vehicle has not been cited or charged in connection with the crash but the investigation remains open, officials said.
One woman is dead and another man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries after an auto-pedestrian crash Thursday morning, police said.
The crash took place around 7:45 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Harvey Drive and Bicentennial Boulevard, McAllen police spokesman Det. Jose Hernandez said.
Hernandez said the woman, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital but died about 30 minutes later.
The man, also not yet identified pending notification of next of kin, is at a local hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries, Hernandez said.
The driver of the vehicle has not been cited or charged and the investigation into the crash is ongoing, officials said.
