Claymont, DE : Pennsylvania man facing DUI charge following fatal Brandywine Hundred pedestrian crash on Friday, 14th December 2018
A Pennsylvania man was charged with driving under the influence following a fatal Brandywine Hundred-area crash early Friday morning, Delaware State Police announced later that same day.
According to authorities, 42-year-old Bruce C. Bryan, of Chester, struck and killed a 38-year-old Wilmington man around 12:44 a.m. on December 14, 2018, in the area of Governor Printz Boulevard near Hillside Road, just outside Claymont. The victim was struck by the 2004 GMC Yukon Bryan was operating and thrown into the grassy area west of the roadway, police said, and Bryan came to a controlled stop at the scene. The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The pedestrian was not carrying a light, had no reflective clothing, and there were no crosswalks nearby, according to authorities. Toxicological tests and notification of next of kin are both pending, and his identity is being withheld.
