Port Charlotte, FL : One person injured in morning Port Charlotte crash November 3 2015

The driver of a minivan was transported to the hospital with serious injuries after an early morning crash in Port Charlotte.
It happened along Sandhill Boulevard between Deep Creek and Capricorn boulevards around 6 a.m.
According to Charlotte County Fire and EMS, the driver of the van hit the back of a garbage truck and had to be extricated from the vehicle.
The roadway was shut down while crews cleared debris from the roadway and the Florida Highway Patrol investigated.
