Hutchinson,KS : Sharon Springs man killed in truck collision on Monday, 7th May 2018

John C. Allen, a Sharon Springs man, was killed Monday afternoon near Garden City.

The 76-year-old Allen was headed south on VFW Road at U.S. 50 and failed to stop at the stop sign, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

At the same time Marcus J. Goetz, 25, Garden City, was driving eastbound on U.S. 50 and collided with the passenger side of Allen’s truck which came to rest in the south ditch of eastbound U.S. 50 facing south. Goetz came to rest on VFW Road at U.S. 50 facing south.

Goetz was injured and transported to St Catherine’s Hospital. According to hospital staff he has been discharged.
