A Centreville man died after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on Prince William County Parkway early Tuesday morning, Prince William County police said.
Police responded to the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Balls Ford Road, near Interstate 66 outside Manassas, at 3:27 a.m. on April 25 to investigate the crash, Prince William police spokesman Sgt. Jonathan Perok said in a news release.
Police said that a 2016 Ford Fiesta was traveling north on Prince William Parkway, just before the Balls Ford Road intersection, when it collided with a 2010 Freightliner tractor-trailer attempting to make a left turn onto Prince William Parkway from Balls Ford Road.
The Ford Fiesta driver, identified as Robert Samuel Moschgat Jr., 25, of Centreville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tractor-trailer driver, identified as a 51-year-old Holmes, Pennsylvania, man was not injured.
Police are still investigating and working to determine if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, Perok said.
Northbound Prince William Parkway was closed for several hours, until around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, while police investigated the crash.
Charges are not pending at this time, Perok said.
