Omaha, NE : 20-year-old motorcyclist dies after crash involving semi, minivan in the area of 35th and L streets on Tuesday, 6th October, 2020

A motorcyclist died after a Tuesday morning crash in Omaha, police said.

The crash happened just before 11 a.m. in the area of 35th and L streets.The investigation revealed a semi tractor and trailer was turning from eastbound L Street onto 35th Street when a westbound 2009 Yamaha motorcycle attempted to avoid the semi.

The Yamaha crossed into eastbound lanes and was struck by an eastbound 2017 Dodge minivan.

The motorcyclist, 20-year-old Andy Mendoza, was transported by Omaha Fire Medics to Nebraska Medicine with life saving measures in progress. Shortly after arrival, he died.
