Gainesville, FL : Waldo man dies in crash on CR 1469 Alachua County on Sunday, Oct 4, 2015

A Waldo man died Sunday after his truck hit several small trees and overturned, pinning him inside the vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Tyler Frederick Glowth, 24, was pronounced dead on scene, an FHP news release said. The accident occurred around 2:48 a.m. Sunday.

Glowth was driving a 2005 Ford F-150 south on County Road 1469 in the area of Northeast 77th Lane when, for unknown reasons, he drifted off the paved road and onto the east grass shoulder of the street, FHP reported. The vehicle continued traveling on the grass shoulder for an extended stretch before Glowth tried to correct the truck’s path by steering abruptly to the right.

However, Glowth couldn’t maintain control of the truck and it began to spin, the news release said. The vehicle crossed the paved part of the road and traveled onto the west grass shoulder, at which point the truck hit several small trees and overturned onto its roof.

Glowth was pinned in the truck and had to be extricated by Alachua County Fire Rescue personnel, after which he was pronounced dead.
