Union County, N.C : Motorcyclist killed after pickup truck runs stop sign on Highway 218 in Monroe on Sunday, Aug 9, 2015

A motorcyclist is dead after the driverof pickup truck ran to a stop sign and caused a wreck late Sunday night in Union County, according to police.

Investigators told the driver of the truck ran that stop sign on Highway 218 around 11 p.m. and ran into a tractor-trailer.
Officials said the motorcyclist did not have enough time to react and crashed into the back of the pickup.
The victim's name has not been released and police have not said any charges have been filed.
