Birmingham, AL: No injuries in three-vehicle crash at Messer Highway on Friday afternoon,7th november 2014

A three-vehicle crash along Interstate 20/59 eastbound near Messer Airport Highway caused major delays at the start of Friday's commute. The crash occurred about 3:20 p.m. According to initial reports, one of the vehicles was reported on fire. Authorities on the scene extinguished the blaze, which was under one of the vehicles' hoods, Birmingham Police Lt. Sean Edwards said. Wreckers were called to the scene to tow the vehicles. No one was injured, Edwards said. Major outbound delays built up as a result, with traffic slowing as far back as downtown Birmingham and Malfunction Junction.
