Lincoln, NE : Truck that hit bicyclist in 84th St. crash on Monday morning, May 2, 2016

A bicycle rider crossing 84th Street in the crosswalk at Pioneers Boulevard was hit by a pickup truck Monday morning.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue workers had to use equipment to lift the truck off of the cyclist after the 9:30 a.m. accident.

Lincoln Police Capt. Danny Reitan said the injuries to the bicyclist, a man in his 30s, were serious but not life-threatening.

Police said the bicyclist was crossing 84th Street headed west in the crosswalk when the pickup turned south onto 84th from eastbound Pioneers and hit him.

Witnesses said the truck had a green light, and police didn't ticket the driver, Sgt. Jake Dilsaver said.
