Lawrence, MA : Motorcyclist killed in Londonderry crash Route 28 on Sunday September 18 2016

One person was killed in a motorcycle accident on Route 28 on Sunday evening.

Police and fire crews received a call for a crash at the intersection of Routes 28 and 28A near the Manchester line just before 8 p.m., said Fire Chief Darren O'Brien.

Upon arrival, first responders found the motorcycle operator, a 26-year-old man from Manchester, dead. O'Brien said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The operator, who has not yet been identified, was the motorcycle's lone rider.

Police Detective Chris Olson said the scene was "very bad" and the debris from the crash was widespread. The road was closed for about three hours Sunday night.

"We're still investigating a cause, but we believe that speed was a factor," Olson said.
