One person is dead following a rollover crash on U.S. Highway 218 in Waterloo Friday morning.

The driver, Gregory Wagner, 55, of La Porte City, was dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Officers were dispatched at about 8:02 a.m. Friday on reports of an erratic driver traveling northbound on U.S. 218. Witnesses reported that a pick-up truck was driving erratically and weaving, according to the police report.

Reports indicate the vehicle had run off the road and rolled over back onto the roadway before officers had found the vehicle. The driver was found deceased at the scene.

The crash happened in the northbound lane of Highway 218, near mile marker 72.2, just before the San Marnan Drive exit near Crossroads Center.

Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue arrived on the scene together Friday morning.
