Billings, MT : 55-year-old man injured after a Single-vehicle crash on First Avenue North and North 17th Street on Saturday afternoon, July 9, 2016

A 55-year-old Billings man was injured Saturday afternoon after the sedan he was driving on a downtown street struck a light post and flipped on its side.

Billings police responded to the crash just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of First Avenue North and North 17th Street. The man was driving a green Honda Civic with California plates eastbound on First Avenue North, BPD Sgt. Brandon Wooley said, when the car ran into the light pole and landed on the passenger side.

Billings firefighters helped the conscious driver out of the car through the windshield. He was taken by ambulance to Billings Clinic with what Wooley said appeared to be injuries that were not life-threatening.

The crash is under investigation.
