HELENDALE, CA : Adelanto woman killed in crash near Helendale on Wednesday, 30th January 2019

A 23-year-old Adelanto woman was pronounced dead early Wednesday after California Highway Patrol volunteers found her overturned car several miles northeast of her home city.

The unnamed woman was found just before 8 a.m. in the Helendale area by the volunteers, who were driving westbound on Shadow Mountain Road, east of Highway 395, CHP officials said in a statement. While traveling, they saw a 2006 white Ford Focus overturned in the open desert south of the roadway.

It appeared to the volunteers that the car had been involved in a crash.
