Van Wert County, OH : One person killed after fatal crash in U.S. 30 at Liberty Union on Monday March 7 2016
A woman is dead after a crash on U.S. 30 near Van Wert Monday morning, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said today.
Troopers from the Van Wert post were called to a crash around 11 a.m. on U.S. 30 at Liberty Union Road in Van Wert County, the highway patrol said in a statement.
Linda Page, 77, of Payne, was driving south on Liberty Union Road when she tried to cross U.S. 30, the statement said.
Her car collided with a car going west on U.S. 30 driven by Sarah Leslie, 41, of Columbus.
Both women were taken to Van Wert County Hospital. Leslie was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Page was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor, police said.
The road was closed while emergency crews worked the scene, but has since reopened, the highway patrol said. The crash remains under investigation
