Kalama, WA : Portland man injured in I-5 motorcyle crash north of Kalama on Sunday, Sep 13, 2015

Two motorcyles heading north on Interstate 5 were involved in a crash shortly after noon Sunday, injuring both riders.

One rider, Michael Collman, 40, of Portland, lost control of his 1978 Harley Davidson and laid it down in the right lane, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Another rider, James T. Marrone, of Vancouver, was following behind him, and collided with the Harley. Marrone's 1977 Honda caught fire and was destroyed.

Collman was transported by Life-Flight to Peacehealth Southwest Washington Medical Center. His condition was not immediately known.

Both men were wearing helmets and alcohol was not involved, according to officials. The accident remains under investigation.
