Eric Watson.A box truck approached U.S. 17 southbound and passed the intersection, followed by a white Ford Focus, according to traffic investigators. As the Ford approached, deputies say the Cadillac began to cross U.S. 17 for unknown reasons resulting in the crash. The impact caused the Cadillac to spin across the remaining Southbound lanes where it crashed into a GMC pickup truck that had stopped, Watson said. The other two passengers of the Cadillac, the driver and a child who was in the back seat, were transported to MUSC, Watson said. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is investigating the accident. A traffic report released on Wednesday lists the driver of the Cadillac to be at fault.
