El Dorado County, CA : Roseville woman killed, four injured in head-on crash on Highway 50 in the Kyburz area on Friday, Oct 16, 2015

A Roseville woman died when her car crossed over the center line and collided with an SUV on Highway 50 in the Kyburz area on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Kimberly Ayers, 51, of Roseville was driving westbound on Highway 50 about 5:45 p.m. Friday near Larch Lane when for unknown reasons her car traveled into the eastbound traffic lane, according to a CHP press release.

Her car collided head-on with a sport utility vehicle with four people inside. Ayers died at the scene, according to the release.

The driver of the SUV, Alfredo Castillo, 49, of San Pablo, suffered major injuries. His passengers suffered moderate injuries.

The collision remains under investigation.
