WASILLA, AK : A Palmer man has been arrested following an accident on Thursday, 29th March 2018

A Palmer man has been arrested following an accident that led to a fatality.

The Wasilla Police Department and Alaska State Troopers responded to an accident at the intersection of the Parks Highway and Clapp Road at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. According to a Wasilla police report, Glenn Hamilton III of Palmer was driving a 2004 Audi at a high rate of speed northbound along Clapp when he blew through a stop light and collided with Donna Swanson, driving a 2014 Toyota sedan.

Edward Swanson, 77, died on scene from the crash. Swanson was a passenger in a Toyota driven by Donna Swanson, 75, of Big Lake. Swanson’s Corolla was not the only vehicle hit by Hamilton, as his Audi also hit the GMC truck driven by Rene Grant of Anchorage.

Hamilton was arrested on four charges: Felony failure to comply with conditions of probation for theft 2, Felony failure to comply with conditions of probation for Assault 3, each a $10,000 offense. He was also charged with $5,000 failure to appear warrant for Burglary 1 and Theft 2, and $2,500 felony arrest warrant for vehicle theft in the first degree.

Investigation into this case is ongoing.
