SPARTANBURG, SC : Chase in Spartanburg Co. led to deadly crash on Highway 221 near to off-ramp to I-85 North on Wednesday, 18th July 2018

The Spartanburg County coroner said an Inman man was killed when a car he was riding in collided with a tractor trailer during a chase on Wednesday night.
Troopers said the crash was reported shortly before 9 p.m. on Highway 221 near to off-ramp to I-85 North
The road was blocked for several hours while troopers investigated and crews worked to clear the wreckage. Troopers said a Ford sedan ran a red light and crashed into a Freightliner that was turning from the I-85 ramp onto US 221.
Coroner Rusty Clevenger said Braeden Scott Rankin, 23 of Compton Bridge Road died at the scene.
