Tucson, AZ : Passenger dies after a two vehicle collision in midtown on Friday night, December 23, 2016
One of the passengers of a two vehicle collision near Glenn Street on Friday night died at the hospital on Saturday, Police said.
He has been identified as 40-year-old William Childers, according to Sgt. Kimberly Bay, spokeswoman for Tucson Police Department.
Authorities responded to crash involving two cars Friday night that resulted in nine people going to the hospital, police said.First responders said one car went through a wall and into a building.
The collision happened just after 11:00 p.m. Friday near East Glenn Street and Castro Avenue after a driver in a Honda Accord ran a stop sign and struck a another vehicle pushing it through a wall and into a building, Bay said.
The driver and three passengers of the Honda were all transported to the hospital with serious injuries, Bay said.
She said the driver of the other vehicle had serious injuries as well.
Police said the other four passengers, including a 2-year-old, sustained minor to serious injuries.
The driver of the Honda is facing multiple felony charges pending his release from the hospital, Bay said. The Honda had been reported stolen to the Tucson Police Department on December 18, 2016. The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
