Anchorage, AK : 57-year-old Joseph Pineda died in traffic crash Tuesday October 11 2016

Anchorage police have released the name of a man who died Tuesday in a traffic crash.Police say 57-year-old Joseph Pineda died.

The cause of death remains under investigation. Police say Pineda may have suffered a medical problem before the crash.

Pineda shortly before 5 p.m. was driving south on Elmore Road in east Anchorage and made a right turn onto Dowling Road.

However, his car crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a sport utility vehicle head-on.

Doctors at an Anchorage hospital pronounced Pineda dead.

Two people in the SUV were treated for injuries police describe as non-life-threatening.7:45 a.m.

Police say the man was driving a car south on Elmore Road and started making a right turn onto Dowling Road.
