Trego County, KS : One person killed in head-on crash in western Kansas on Tuesday December 15 2015

One person was killed Tuesday morning in a two-car, head-on crash in western Kansas, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday at northbound US-283 highway about six miles south of WaKeeney.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash occurred when a 1992 Cadillac that was northbound on US-283 highway went left of center and struck a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck head-on.
The driver of the Cadillac, Lonnie Barnhart, 56, of Dewey, Okla., was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
The driver of the Silverado, identified as Edward Deges, 55, of WaKeeney, was injured in the crash and was transported to Hays Medical Center in Hays.
