Two people were injured in what police say was a drug-related car crash in Harlan County, Kentucky Monday morning.
Kentucky State Police say the crash happened around 8:40 a.m. on U.S. Highway 421 near Cawood. Troopers say a silver 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Paula Cox, 52, was going south and ran off the roadway.
The vehicle started to slide sideways then overturned, flipping six or seven times.
Cox was ejected from the vehicle. Her husband, Philip Cox, 47, remained in the vehicle.
Both were taken to Harlan ARH Hospital for treatment. Paula Cox was then transferred to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.
Cox was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs. There is no word or either her or her husband's conditions.
