Greensboro, NC : Man died in a traffic crash involving motorcycle, truck at West Gate City Boulevard and Guilford College Road on Saturday, April 23, 2016

A pickup truck driver faces charges after police said he failed to stop at a Greensboro intersection and caused a crash that killed a motorcyclist.

Brandon Lavel Hunter, 35, of Quebeck, Tennessee faces charges of misdemeanor death and a traffic signal violation in connection to the death of 46-year-old William Lucius Harriss of Greensboro.

Police said the crash happened shortly before 6:45 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of West Gate City Boulevard and Guilford College Road.

Hunter was driving a 2015 Ram 2500 pickup east bound on West Gate City Boulevard and failed to stop at a traffic signal at the intersection, according to police.

The victim was on a Triumph motorcycle headed south on Guilford College Road and the two crashed.

Harriss suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Guilford County emergency responders.

The crash is currently being investigated by the Greensboro Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.

Police said it has been 35 days since the last motor vehicle collision fatality in Greensboro.
