Pylesville, MD : Woman, 18, killed in Rocks Road crash in Pylesville Sunday evening on June 8, 2014
An 18-year-old Delaware woman was killed off Rocks Road in Pylesville Sunday evening when the pickup truck she was riding in hit a utility pole, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.
No one else was injured in the single-vehicle crash, reported at 7:27 p.m. in the 1000 block of St. Mary's Road, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cristie Kahler said.
The victim, who is from Bear, Del., and was a passenger, was ejected from the pick-up and pronounced dead at the scene, Kahler said.
The Sheriff's Office was not immediately releasing the victim's identity, pending notification of next of kin, Kahler said.
The Ford pickup truck was headed east and contained five people. No one else suffered injuries that warranted medical treatment, Kahler said.
The crash remains under investigation. Westbound St. Mary's Road was closed for two hours for accident reconstruction, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The crash was one of several reported in Harford County Sunday evening.
Harford Fire Blog reported crashes in the 500 block of Joppa Farm Road in Joppatowne, Routes 543 and 7 in Belcamp and on I-95 at Route 543.
The Harford County Fire and EMS Association reported a motorcycle crash on I-95 near Aberdeen in which one person was taken by ambulance to a regional trauma center. No further details were available Sunday night.
