South Kansas City, KS: 1 seriously injured in crash on U.S. 71 North in south KC on Saturday, 5th January 2019

One person was seriously injured in a crash involving a semi truck Saturday night on U.S. 71 in south Kansas City, police said.

The crash happened around 8:08 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway near Interstate 470.

U.S. 71 North, also known as I-49, was shut down around 8:15 p.m. between Red Bridge Road and I-470 as police investigated, according to Kansas City Scout.
