Tucson, AZ : 3-year-old boy killed after being hit by a truck on the southeast side Wednesday evening, May 25, 2016
Tucson police have identified the 3-year-old boy who died after being hit by a truck on the southeast side Wednesday evening.
Denver Greenberg was struck shortly before 6 p.m., in the area of South Castle Bay and East Banbridge Street in the Rita Ranch area, said Tucson police spokesman, Sgt. Pete Dugan.
Tucson Fire transported Denver to Northwest Emergency Center in Vail, but after arriving, he succumbed to his injuries, Dugan said.
Detectives determined that a Chevrolet truck traveling west on Castle Bay began making a left turn onto Banbridge, when it struck Denver, who had entered the unmarked crosswalk.
Denver was riding a push-style scooter east on Castle Bay, in front of his father and 4-year-old brother, Dugan said.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. Speed and alcohol don't appear to be a factor, and the driver hasn't been cited, Dugan said.
