Momence, IL : Two people injured in DUI crash on Illinois Route 114 just east of Momence early Saturday morning, February 27, 2016
A woman was airlifted to a south suburban hospital from the scene of a crash involving a car and semi tractor-trailer early Saturday morning on Illinois Route 114 just east of Momence.
According to Illinois State Police, Doreen Demario, 56, was a passenger in a car driven by Amanda L. Dust, 20, of Cedar Lake, Ind. Both women had to be extricated.
Demario was airlifted to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. A spokeswoman said Monday that Demario is in good condition.
Dust was taken to Riverside Medical Center in serious condition.
According to a report, the car was parked blocking both east and west lanes of Illinois 114. It was facing south at 12000E Road.
The driver of the semi, Roger D. Burkhalter, 62, of Bradley, was westbound on Illinois 114.
Burkhalter tried to avoid hitting the car, but hit it on the driver's side door. He was taken to Presence St. Mary's Hospital for evaluation.
According to the report, Dust was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and underage consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Police were called at 1:44 a.m.
