PLANT CITY, FL : Tampa woman, 31, killed as her car crashes into SUV in Plant City on Wednesday, 25th December, 2019

A 31-year-old Tampa woman died Wednesday after she lost control of her car and collided with an oncoming SUV.

The crash occurred about 10 p.m. as Meagan Thi Baytarian was driving east in a 2012 Toyota Yaris on State Road 60 near Clarence Gordon Jr. Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Baytarian lost control of the car, crossed the grass median and collided nearly head on with a 2015 Dodge Journey driven by Gussie L. Haughbrook, the Highway Patrol said.

Baytarian died at the scene. Haughbrook, 76, of Tampa was transported to Tampa General with serious injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Investigators had not yet determined if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
