Indianpolis ,IN :Woman killed in motorcycle accident involving off-duty IMPD officer on Friday , June 26th 2015

A woman is dead after a motorcycle accident in Downtown Indy, just a few blocks west of Monument Circle.Police responded to a call about an accident around 2:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Washington and West Streets.Police say that there were two people riding the bike. Officer Chris Wilburn from IMPD confirms the driver of the motorcycle was an off-duty IMPD officer. His passenger, a female, died at the scene.The driver was taken to the hospital, but it is unclear how serious his injuries are.Officers are currently blocking Washington St westbound in the 600 block near that intersection.This investigation is ongoing and our story will be updated as more information becomes available.
