Millbury, OH : Two people died in a fatal crash in Wood County early Sunday morning, December 20, 2015

Authorities say two people have died in a fatal crash in northwest Ohio.

The Bowling Green post of the State Highway Patrol says the accident happened early Sunday morning after a driver ran a stop sign while turning south onto a road in Wood County. The car, which carried the driver and a passenger, then collided with a northbound vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was not injured.

The names of the deceased driver and passenger have not been released, pending family notifications.

The patrol says the two motorists were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. First responders extracted them from the car and pronounced them dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
