Gilbert, AZ : 1 seriously injured in Gilbert crash by Pecos and Recker roads on Friday, 7th February, 2020

One teenager with serious injuries was taken to the hospital Friday after a two-vehicle crash in Gilbert, police said.

The crash occurred just after 2:30 p.m. near Pecos and Recker roads, said Gilbert Police Department spokesperson Brenda Carrasco.

The crash involved two vehicles and a total of four teenagers between the ages of 16 and 18, she said. One of the four teens was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, said Carrasco.

The intersection is near Higley High School, but it is not yet known if the teenagers are students at the school. Carrasco did not immediately respond to The Arizona Republic's inquiry about whether the teenagers are believed to be students at the school.
