FLORENCE, SC : Pedestrian killed in Florence, woman charged with DUI on Tuesday, 6th September 2016

A pedestrian was struck and killed in Florence Tuesday night, and a woman now faces charges for DUI, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Rebecca Cook, 46-years-old from Effingham, was driving a 2001 Chrysler traveling east on Spring Branch Road; she then struck the pedestrian who was in the roadway. The collision took place approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

Highway Patrol said Cook is facing DUI charges and the collision is under investigation.
