ATLANTA, GA : 2 dead, at least 5 injured in multiple-vehicle crash on I-285 on Saturday, 30th September 2023

Two people are dead and several more are injured after a 10-car accident early Saturday morning, according to DeKalb police.

All lanes were blocked on I-285 E, or exit 51, for at least six hours, the Georgia Department of Transportation said. Police responded to the accident near 3:50 a.m., where they found the two dead on-scene.

Four other people were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department said at least five people were injured in total.

The state transportation department encouraged drivers to avoid the area, which had “extreme delays.”

Police and the fire department did not comment on how the accident happened.
