BOXFORD, MA : Man facing charges in fatal crash on I-95 on Saturday, 10th September 2016
Police say a Massachusetts man is facing charges for drunken driving and causing a crash on Interstate 95 that left one person dead.
State police say the crash happened just before 6 p.m. Saturday near exit 53 in Boxford.
Police say a Saturn being operated by a 45-year-old Newburyport man was in the breakdown lane when it was struck by the Chevrolet being operated by 22-year-old Nathaniel Armstrong, of Amesbury. Police say the Chevrolet then went off the road and into the nearby woods.
The Newburyport man was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police haven't released his name.
Armstrong is charged with motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence of liquor and related crimes.
Armstrong is being held by police pending his arraignment Monday.
